Life and Getting Old From One Who is Old Enough To Know...

My brothers and sisters of blogsville,

I have erred... I know. My silence is unforgivable! But I must ask that you tamper justice with mercy. I am sooo down on bended knees... Actually, on one knee, because I have a small bruise on my skin near the other knee. I got the bruise playing love with my hubby... Wink.lol. Yes o! Who no like better thing? But seriously, with time, I will explain why I have been silent all this while.

Life is a journey, filled with so many experiences. No matter how joyful or painful those experiences are, we have the responsibility of learning out of it. Which brings me to my post for the day. I read this piece from an unknown author, and I thought it was intriguing, hilarious, and an all time food for thought, worth sharing with good people like you. I hope it doesn't just appeal to you, but that it also opens your eyes to something about life... Something you might like to share with me and us here. Enjoy...

As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend.I have seen too many dear friends leave this world, too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.

Whose business is it, if I choose to read, or play, on the computer, until 4 AM, or sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 50, 60 &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love, I will. I will walk the beach, in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves, with abandon, if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set. They, too, will get old.

I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And, I eventually remember the important things. Sure, over the years, my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break, when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But, broken hearts are what give us strength, and understanding, and compassion. A heart never broken, is pristine, and sterile, and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.

As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong.

So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day (if I feel like it).

Thanks for being there... We must all be thankful for life and getting old.

Peace... I'm out

OMG! My feet are off the ground. just cant stop thanking God.

Hello everyone!

Happy new month! In this month, I pray that our dreams, aspirations and prayers will continue to be met by our maker, even as we continue to look into the future with hope knowing that our redeemer still lives.

A friend of mine tagged me in a post on FB written by Tyler Perry on March 21, 2007, the story kinda worked on me and this is because just like me, I believe we all have been through that lane before. So, like I always do, I want to share it here on this platform so that anytime you feel like giving in to the battles of your days, anytime you feel like throwing in the towel, anytime you feel all is lost, anytime you feel like saying "I have had enough!" just remember that God has prepared someone somewhere waiting to get connected to you and to help you pull through life. You are never alone... Enjoy:

"This morning I woke and was so frustrated about all the stuff I'm dealing with, trying to get this studio open. I was about to open my mouth and start complaining when I remembered something that happened to me about a year ago.

I was walking to my car and this woman who looked to be homeless started walking towards me. I'm ashamed to say this but I thought, "I don't feel like being hustled today." Then I got quickly convicted. I felt guilty so I started digging in my pocket for some money. As she got closer I noticed that she had the kindest eyes that I had ever seen. As I was reaching into my pocket she started to speak. I thought, "Here goes the sales pitch". She said "Excuse me sir, I need some shoes". Can you help me? My eyes filled with water because I remember being out on the streets and having only one pair of run over shoes. I was taken aback for a second.

I took her inside the studio and had my wardrobe people find shoes in her size. As she put the shoes on she started crying, praising God and thanking Jesus, and saying, "My feet are off the ground! My feet are off the ground!" Several of the wardrobe people started crying. I was crying. But I never forgot that, "My feet are off the ground!" I thought, "Wow! All she wanted was some shoes." She quickly disappeared and never asked me for a dime.

I realized that I still had the money in my hand so I went out looking for her. She was gone just that quick so I looked all around the neighborhood for her. I found her standing on a corner looking down at her shoes still crying. I was so touched I asked her how she had gotten homeless.

She told me that she had AIDS and that she was waiting to get into a shelter. She said that her family had turned their backs on her and she had nowhere to go and that God would make a way for her. I said to myself, "He just did." Her faith and her praise moved me. I took her to a nearby hotel and put her up until she was able to get on her feet. I had someone that worked for me to check on her from time to time and make sure that she had food and clothes. After about a month or so we lost touch but I never forgot her.

This past summer I was shooting "Daddy's Little Girls" and this woman walks up to me smiling. I didn't recognize her face but her eyes were familiar. She had on a really nice dress and her hair was done. It was her! She told me that the little help that I had given her changed her life. She was in a house now and doing very well.

I said all of that to say this. After I met this woman, every time I think about complaining and mumbling I remember, "My feet are off the ground!" I wanted to share this with you just to let you know that when I say that I am thankful for you, I really mean it. And when I say that you are a blessing to me, I mean it. We take so much for granted sometimes that I just wanted all of you to know that I am grateful to God for you everyday."

Thank you for being in my life. I appreciate every single time you stop by to view my blog, and I am touched much more, everytime you actually articulate words in order to comment on something I have written. It gives me hope, because to me (I don't know about others) it means that I must be doing something right and that if I can just keep at this, maybe, just maybe, it will come to a time, when someone will always visit, just so that he/she could find hope for the day. It tells me that in my little way, I am helping someone (hopefully) to say "my feet are off the ground!" The fulfillment alone, of having you in my life tells me that I also have the good grounds to say "my feet are off the ground! Yes!!!

Sincerely, thank you for being in my life, and thank you for reading.

Peace...I'm out!

Men are Honest?!!

Hello everyone,
I got another story today. I hope it is able to tell you "something" after reading it. I hope even more that this story will stir up a debate which at the end will help us all live better lives and lifestyles. Enjoy!!
One day, a wood cutter was cutting a branch of a tree towering over a river when his axe-head fell into the river. He cried out and the Lord appeared and asked, "Why are you crying?!" The woodcutter replied that his axe-head had fallen into the water, and he needed his axe to make a living. The Lord went down into the water and re-appeared with a golden axe-head. "Is this your axe-head?", the Lord asked.
The woodcutter replied, "No." The Lord again went down and came up with a silver axe-head. "Is this your axe?", the Lord asked. Again, the woodcutter replied, "No." The Lord went down again and came up with an iron axe-head. "Is this your axe-head?", the Lord asked. The woodcutter replied, "Yes." The Lord was pleased with the man's honesty and gave him all three axes to keep, and the woodcutter went home happy.

Some time later the woodcutter was walking with his wife along the riverbank, and his wife fell into the river (how that happened! na inside story)lol... When he cried out, the Lord again appeared and asked him, "Why are you crying? "Oh Lord, please help!! My wife has fallen into the river and I don't not know how to swim"
The Lord went down into the river and came up with ANGELINA JOLIE "Is this your wife?" the Lord asked.. "Yes," cried the woodcutter, the Lord was furious. "You lied! That is not true and you know it!!" The woodcutter replied, "Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a misunderstanding, you see, if I had said 'no' to ANGELINA JOLIE, You would have come up with MEGAN FOX. Then if I said 'no' to her, you would have come up with my wife .
Had I then said 'yes,' you would have given me all three. Lord, I am a poor man, and am not able to take care of all three wives. So that is my reason for saying yes to ANGELINA JOLIE ." Lol.
MORAL OF THE STORY (and I can't believe I am deducing this conclusion by myself)lol: Whenever a man lies, it is for a good and honorable reason, and for the benefit of others. Do you agree? Why? And if you do not agree, why not? I wish I could answer, but I'm going to keep me and my big mouth out of it for now... I will save my comment for last. Let the Debate b-e-g-i-n...

TRUST

My people!
I've got lots of gists (stories) to tell you but the thing be say I don dey feel lazy anyhow to the point of not doing anything sef. So I beg, make una de remember me for una prayers, you hear?lol... This my pidgin English get as e be sha, but make una take me as una see me... Just like that.
I stumbled upon this story and just like I always do, I am bringing it on here, to lift up someone's spirit and bring hope to us all.
One day, a little girl and her father were crossing a foot-bridge. The father who was petrified about falling into the bridge because of the phobia he has for heights said to his little daughter, 'Sweetheart, go ahead... Hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river.' The little girl said, 'No, Dad. You hold my hand.'  'What's the difference?' asked the puzzled father. 'There's a big difference,' replied the little girl.

'If I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go. But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go.'

Moral of the story: In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person who loves you rather than expecting them to hold yours... Songs of Solomon 8:6 says that
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Imagine the kind and power of the trust that proceeds out of love.
And if we allow God to hold our hands, no matter what happens in life, we know that He will never let us go. Thank you all for the comments on my last post, I also appreciate my new followers *extends hands for a long lasting friendship* please stick and stay with me.
I thank God the strike in Naija is over, and I hope all my friends over there are doing fine.
Finally, I'd like to ask (thinking of the relationship between the girl and her father), should we be afraid to love when love is pure? And should we be afraid of trusting when love has proven itself? Should we run away from love when it finds us? And who can share tips on staying in love without loosing your mind or being distracted?lol (don't mind me... Seriously). Bring it on!!!
Peace... I'm out

Life: Deep and Unpredictable...

Friends,

During the 31st December 2011 all night service at the church where I worship, an incident happened, whose succeeding event, has shaken me so much that, since that time up til now, I haven't really been myself.

We all got to church excited and looking forward to the exciting moments in God's presence which will usher in 2012. After worship session, the MC allowed for testimonies and a lady who I haven't really seen in church before came to also testify of the goodness of God. Paramount to the other things she said God had done for her was God delivering her from all sort of death-threatening demonic attacks.

So, about half an hour to midnight, we started praying to welcome the new year. While the prayer was going on, we noticed this lady who I spoke about in the earlier paragraph, had fallen and was vomiting. So the pastor asked that we all pray for her because she was going through another demonic attack.

After praying for her, the pastor instructed that she be taken to the hospital, and we continued with the service. I was informed later that morning that the lady died in the hospital and I'm like whaaaaaatt!!!!!

Since that day, I have asked myself so many questions... Questions like:
* Why didn't God save her (because I know He has the power to) even after her testimony of His goodness towards her?
* Why did she still die despite all the prayers we made on her behalf?
* Would she have been dead now had she not testified?
* What is it about life that one minute you have it but the next, you are not too sure what to expect?

But just as it is written in the bible that we should give thanks to God in every situation (because that is the will of God for us through Jesus Christ-1Thessalonians5:18) and also to watch and to pray. This lady would have died in the church auditorium had there been a little delay, and this would have led to a grievous police scandal; not adding what the press would have said about my pastor and the church.

We serve a living God... A God who knew us even before we were born; a God who is before the very foundation of our lives. So as believers, we have to understand that God was there before us and will still be there even after us. This is why we have to be confident that if we get Him involved in all things pertaining  to our lives, He will always perfect our ways.

May God have mercy on us all and teach us to number our days so we can always apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Peace....... I'm out!

Tell your critics to stay tuned for a great show ahead! as for your admires, oh! tell them they haven't seen anything yet! also, tell all those who wish/plan to see you 6feet down to better bury themselves in their own pits because My God... Your God... Our God... He is awesome! He will continue to make us outstanding in all our days in this new year.

The Almighty will
Uplift us,

The Masquerader pt 2

Hello people!

Seasons greetings to you all. I hope this Christmas brings you good tidings and all the blessing of love and happiness you could ever seek for.

Ok, now to today's agenda. You all remember the masquerader story right? For those of you who do not or who may not have read it at all, you can follow here to get a heads up on the antecedents leading to the instant read. So I was at the same salon over the weekend and I raised the topic again. Trust me, I have been trying to find out the where about of this lady for a while now, but didn't know how to start asking the people at the salon, without sounding like an "amebo" (gossip).

So finally, I mastered the courage and asked after the lady this time around and the response I got certainly broke my heart. The poor lady is dead. Yes! you heard right... Dead! How that happened, no one knows. As sad as it can be, what the family members planned and did with her corpse is what  made me "bore" (vex) big time!  I was told they went for her corpse and they gave her a grand funeral which attracted a large crowd.

After this story and the appendages attached to it were shared with me, I began to ask myself all sort of questions: Where were all those family members when she was living on the street? Does it mean the family members preferred her corpse more? OMG! How could they even dare to go for her corpse after neglecting her and allowing her die in such a sad way in the first place? Lord have mercy!

Sad way to end a life just because one was being good. May God forgive the husband who is believed to be under a spell and may the Lord forgive the "supposed" friend too and help her repent. May the Lord help her to repent because even though this lady might be dead and gone, even in death, she's got people watching out and praying for justice on her behalf.

Anyway! I wish you all the best of this season and I'd like to share with you, a prayer I got from the net. I pray that you will give to your enemy, forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; and to all, charity. I also pray that you give to every child, a good example and to yourself, respect. Have the best of the season and please observe a minute silence for the departed.

Peace... I'm out!
